One man was in jail Saturday, and another was being sought in an abduction, rape and robbery of a 21-year-old Savannah College of Art and Design student.
Two other suspects also were in custody and were being investigated in the attack, said Sgt. Mike Wilson, spokesman for the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.
Arrested was William Mitchell, 19, who was charged with rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, hijacking a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and obstruction. Mitchell's arrest followed a high-speed chase through downtown and midtown Savannah.
Also arrested after the pursuit were Jason Holmes, 19, and a 16-year-old. Holmes is charged with theft by receiving a stolen auto, obstruction by fleeing and multiple traffic violations. The 16-year-old is in the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center, charged with obstruction and providing a false name to police.

HYDERABAD: A physiotherapy student, who had allegedly raped a ninth standard student and recorded the act on his mobile phone, has been threatening her of putting the visuals on the Internet, the Chatrinaka police said on Thursday.
A hunt has been launched for the accused, Ravi Kiran, 21, of Mahbubnagar town, who is in the final year of physiotherapy course. A case under Section 376 of the IPC has been registered against him.
The accused happened to see the mobile phone number of a woman lecturer living in SRT Colony of Chatrinaka as it was displayed in a television programme after she won a contest.

A second youth may have been involved in the planning of a burglary and rape executed by a 14-year-old on Brock Avenue in Prichard, police said Friday.
The crime occurred Tuesday but police did not make it public until Thursday, a delay which upset some residents.
Chief Lawrence Battiste said that the second boy, who is 16, has been identified and that the Police Department was working with Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson's office to obtain a conspiracy charge against him.
Tyson did not immediately return a message left on his cell phone Friday night.
The 14-year-old accused of committing the crime was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree burglary, both of which are class A felonies.

Youth who tried to ram cops shot dead
KUANTAN: A suspected robber-cum-rapist was shot dead and three others captured when they tried to ram policemen who had stopped them for questioning in Bukit Sekilau here.
The19-year-old youth died after a policeman fired shots at the car tyres Thursday.
One of the bullets penetrated the boot and rear seat of the car where the youth was sitting, hitting him in the waist.
State deputy police chief SAC (I) Datuk Robiah Abdul Ghani said Mohd Arifuddin Mohamad died at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here at 6.30pm.
It is learnt a woman had lodged a report alleging that the deceased was one of those who had raped her.
“We received a call that five people including a woman in a car were driving suspiciously in the neighbourhood.
“Four plainclothes police personnel who were despatched to the area ordered the driver to stop by the roadside.
“One of occupants stepped out while the others remained inside.
When one of the policemen identified himself, the driver accelerated and tried to knock down the officers,” she told a press conference.
The suspects managed to drive away leaving their accomplice behind but an hour later, police were informed that a youth had been admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Two others, aged 17 and 23, were arrested in follow-up operations.
Police believe the gang could be involved in the rape of a 19-year-old college student.

9 tahun jadi mangsa rogol
SEREMBAN: Kesengsaraan seorang gadis yang menjadi mangsa nafsu serakah bapa angkatnya sejak sembilan tahun lalu berakhir apabila dia diselamatkan bapa saudaranya Khamis lalu.
Difahamkan, sebelum ini, gadis terbabit yang berusia 17 tahun diserahkan kepada bapa angkatnya itu untuk dijaga sejak berusia sembilan tahun selepas ibu kandungnya dihantar ke Hospital Bahagia di Tampoi, Johor.
Bagaimanapun, gadis itu menjadi mangsa rogol sejak tinggal di sebuah rumah di Taman Kristal, Labu, di sini, beberapa tahun lalu.
Malah sejak tinggal bersama, mangsa tidak dibenarkan bersekolah dan dilarang keluar rumah.
Mangsa hanya dibenarkan bekerja di sebuah salun di bandar ini sejak beberapa minggu lalu.
Penderitaan mangsa akhirnya terbongkar selepas dia menceritakan perbuatan terkutuk bapa angkatnya kepada seorang rakan sekerja yang kemudiannya memberitahu bapa saudara gadis terbabit.
Dengan bantuan bapa saudaranya, mangsa dibawa ke Balai Polis Seremban 2 untuk membuat laporan mengenai kejadian itu.
Ketua Polis Daerah Seremban, Asisten Komisioner Saiful Azly Kamaruddin mengesahkan pihaknya menerima laporan mengenai kejadian yang berlaku itu pada 25 Oktober lalu.
Susulan laporan itu, polis menahan seorang lelaki berusia 49 tahun bagi membantu siasatan berhubung dakwaan rogol.
